Google does approximately 100+ updates related to search algorithms every single day - at least that’s what they say. Google does everything to avoid manipulating their algorithms. That’s why there is no (and couldn’t be) single common rules to get you website ranked.

However, doing a SEO for 20 years in different GEOs and niches, I see some patterns which may be used in 99% cases. You may find some sites like this one for example, which brakes a lot of rules and still ranks well. That’s possible, but all sites like that has one thing in common: they do not rank long term.
